About
Paul

Strength & Conditioning Expert / Sport Scientist / Doctoral Candidate

Paul K. Balsom is a researcher, presenter and practitioner in elite athletic performance and development. He has been on the front lines of sport and coaching for three decades, especially renowned for improving athletes’ power and speed while making injury prevention development a primary focus of his approach. Paul’s obsession for performance-relevant movement is evident in the passion he brings to training high-performance athletes and mentoring up-and-coming coaches.

Paul developed his Propulsive Coordination Method (PCM) to shape athletes into faster, stronger, more resilient players. Today, with a paper in peer review and his Doctorate thesis near completion, he has the scientific data to prove what his athletes implicitly understand—Paul’s techniques work because they are logical, and the podium results speak for themselves.

Coordination is central to Paul’s research and training approach. Understanding coordination, how it affects generation and direction of force, and its transference from training tasks to performance is critical in order to optimize results. However, this aspect of sport science has been inexplicably overlooked in performance circles, until now.

PCM-trained athletes show dramatically improved performance in agility and acceleration, more power and better posture in contact sports, greater sprint repeatability, improved skill development that translates to shooting and passing power and accuracy, and significantly reduced injury rates.

PCM is a game changeR…literally
